Have you seen a post on our page that you really resonate with, or a feature of someone with the same condition? Well it's all thanks to our incredible ambassadors and the hard work that they put in. When Emilee and Hannah started Tru Faces, they had no idea how big it would be and quickly realized that they could not do it all alone. That's why, in 2021, the Ambassador Program was created to bring together like-minded disability advocates who wanted to use the Tru Faces platform to amplify their voices.
The ambassador program has contributed to our platform in so many ways, but has also positively impacted our ambassadors themselves! We asked them to tell us about there experience and this is what they had to say.
"Thank you Tru Faces for helping me to gain confidence to share my vision journey online. It was the push I needed when I leaped onto the role of an Ambassador. I have been able to meet virtually many individuals with disabilities (not only those with visual impairments). It has been great being a part of such a positive and thriving team the last two years." - Jacqueline (@ykcajuay)
"Being an ambassador means being able to give back to a larger community. Getting to know different people from similar backgrounds and being able to be an advocate for different groups of people. Being part of Tru Faces means getting a say in who you advocate for. There is also lots of room to voice your own opinions." - Ambassador
"I love being part of the Tru Faces Ambassador Program! It gives me the opportunity to spread my knowledge to a wider community. At the same time it allows me to learn from others, bringing more awareness on how to provide support, educate and shed light on various topics." - Ambassador
"The Tru Faces Ambassador Team is a wonderful environment to be a part of. Everyone is so friendly, warm and welcoming. If you care to raise awareness for disabilities and continue to encourage voices in the community to be heard, this is the space for you!" - Ambassador
"The Tru Faces ambassador program gave me the opportunity to meet people from around the world who also had disabilities. It provided me with a platform to share about my condition, along with advocate and educate. I highly recommend the program to anyone who has the opportunity to participate as it is a great community to be a part of." - Ambassador
